Braycote Inertox 2 600 g

Description

Castrol Braycote Inertox greases (formerly known as the Castrol Inertox range) are chemically inert and thermally stable high-temperature greases based on premium fully synthetic base oils and a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) thickener. They are designed for the long-term lubrication of rolling and plain bearings operating under extreme thermal loads.

Castrol Braycote Inertox high-temperature greases are intended for use in aggressive environments and are resistant to inorganic and organic acids as well as alkalis. They are also suitable for vacuum systems and cleanrooms where a very low evaporation rate of the base oil is required.

Applications

Castrol Braycote Inertox is used for lubricating rolling and plain bearings exposed to continuous temperatures of up to +260 °C and/or aggressive environmental conditions where conventional greases reach their performance limits.

When operating conditions are observed, Braycote Inertox allows for significantly extended relubrication intervals in applications such as:

  • Film stretching machines
  • Textile tenter frames
  • Kiln trolley bearings in the ceramics industry
  • Particleboard and MDF production equipment

Braycote Inertox 440-1 is recommended for vacuum systems requiring extremely low base oil evaporation.

Braycote Inertox 500-2 is approved for gas valves in accordance with DIN 3536 and DIN EN 377 (DVGW).

Braycote Inertox 240-2 is approved for gas valves according to DIN EN 377 (DVGW).

Thanks to the very high viscosity index of its base oils and its chemically inert PTFE thickener, Braycote Inertox can be used over a wide temperature range from -35 °C to +260 °C.

Adequate ventilation must be ensured at elevated temperatures. The maximum temperature of +300 °C must never be exceeded, even for short periods.

Application Instructions

Castrol Braycote Inertox is chemically inert and therefore is not compatible or miscible with other lubricants.

Before application, all bearing surfaces and rolling bearings should be thoroughly cleaned and degreased using a hydrocarbon-based solvent (such as petroleum ether), while observing all applicable safety regulations.

For dissolving, cleaning, and dispersing Braycote Inertox high-temperature greases, Castrol Tribol 1899, a perfluoropolyether-based cleaner, is recommended.

Benefits

  • Excellent thermal stability
  • High wear protection and outstanding load-carrying capability
  • Good corrosion protection
